We were recently invited to restore a pitched roof on a period property in Hale, Altrincham, Cheshire.
The client wanted to, where possible, make use of the existing rosemary tiles on the existing roof supplemented with reclaimed tiles that we had to source.
We initially carefully removed the original pitched roof covering, retaining as many of the tiles as we could, avoiding breakages wherever possible. Once this was removed, we were able to completely refresh the fabric of the roof structure using treated battens and then re-felt using breathable felt with non perishable 5U felt through the eave.
We then sympathetically replaced all the retained tiles and incorporated rescued tiles without harming the appearance of the roof. All of this had to be undertaken whilst being incorporated with additional extension works and the introduction of Velux windows and new solar panels.
The pitched roof has now effectively been returned to its former glory and the client is delighted.
